Hi, it's good to be back. The place hasn't changed much while I've been away (thank goodness, life's been unpredictable enough without more surprises).
This year has been full of detours, and what I hoped and expected to get done seems to have had all kinds of things put in its way. I've hardly written anything worth reading for months–not even a tweet–but I started several short stories with the intention of submitting to various themed publications before I got knocked off track. Not all of them are going to turn into anything I'd care to let loose on the world, but I'm hopeful that once life has settled enough to allow me some brainspace for writing, I might be able to finish the others.
Back in the summer, when much of the time it was too hot to do anything but sit in the shade and read, I caught up on some of the books I'd borrowed from the library and those I'd downloaded in the Smashwords Summer-Winter Sale, so I've got half a dozen reviews to put online too.
I've also started editing another novel, which has been waiting for my attention since before I embarked on Discord's Shadow. At the moment, it's called Monkeytail. It's a departure from the fantasy genre being set in England in the 13th century.
With Christmas looming, there are bound to be other distractions, but I promise I'm going to keep plugging away, and when life does finally settle back into something resembling normality, I shall be ready! Meanwhile, you'll find Discord's Child FREE, Discord's Apprentice 50% off and Artists and Liars FREE in the Smashwords end of year sale at http://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/ksdearsley
Have a wonderful Christmas!
